Martha Jane Mann Woodard, 61, widow of Virgil Woodard died Friday, January 2, 2009 at her home.

She was born May 25, 1947 in Nicholas Co. to Loretta Armbruster Mann of Carlisle and the late William C. Mann. She was a 1965 graduate of Bourbon Co. High School and attended Utah Technical College and graduated from Forsythe Technical College in North Carolina with a degree in nursing. She worked for 12 years as a med-surg and rehab nurse at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C.. She made many friends with the patients and staff and kept in touch with them through the years. She also worked for three years at the V.A. Hospital, Cooper Drive as a med-surg nurse and telemetery tech before becoming ill.

Other survivors include her daughter Denise (Robbie Matthews) Burdett, Carlisle, her special friend and buddy her grandson Wyatt Burdett who she loved very much. Also survived by a step-grandson Nathan Matthews, and a brother-in-law, Pete (Faye) Woodard, Tifton, Georgia.

She was also preceded in death by a son William Lewis Woodard.

A special thanks to her special aunts and uncles for their support during her illness, Charles & Mary Carter, Earl & Faye Mastin and Bobby & Ruby Mann.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Rev. Don Toy. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 12:00 Noon Monday.

Susan Soper Mrs. Mann and Denise, So sorry to hear about Janie. She was a part of my growing up years. I can still remember camping out in your alls back yard in Millersburg.
