Charlotte Sosby Kenney, 96, wife of the late Eugene Kenney, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.

Born October 12, 1917 in Nicholas County, she was a daughter of the late Calvert & Delia Cook Sosby, was a devoted homemaker and member of the Saltwell United Methodist Church, who also attended the Carlisle Church of Christ in her later years.

She is survived by a niece, Vickie (Robert) Glass, a great-niece, Heather Kimberling and her canine best friend, Sammy, all of Lexington.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Roberta Crawford.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Mike Hughes with burial following in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of service.

So sorry to hear about Charlotte. She was such a good woman and Mother always loved all her cousins so much. She lived a long life, I didn't realize she was already in her 90's. My sympathy and prayers to you and your family.

I have such fond memories of Charlotte and Saltwell. Im just now learning of her passing. Im sorry for the loss. Im glad she lived such a long life and had Vicki Ann and Heather.
