Jack Asbury Sexton, 65, of Paris, formerly of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his home.

Born July 23, 1953 in Nicholas County to the late Roy Cee & Opal Mae Cartmill Sexton, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, a retired construction foreman with Kay & Kay Contracting and member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle. Jack loved watching old westerns, wrestling and U.K. Basketball on television. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and his grandbabies, Pap-pap’s Sweetie Pie Tiana and his Angel Toryn.

Left to cherish his memory are 2 daughters: Nicole Jones and her husband, Tyson, and Farrah Sexton and her fiancé, Jordan Wagoner, all of Paris; 2 brothers, Ronnie (Janice) Sexton and Doug (Missy) Sexton, both of Carlisle; 5 sisters: Emma Williams, of Lexington; Nancy Bussell, Betty (Thrashley) Markland & Patricia (Donald) Markland, of Carlisle; and Judy (Harry) Harp, of Paris; 2 granddaughters, Tiana & Toryn Jones, and a host of nieces & nephews.

Also preceding him in death were a son, Jack Sexton, Jr., and a brother, William "Bus" Sexton, and 4 half-brothers: Roy, Jr., Everett Thomas, J.G. and Charles Sexton.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 1, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Carlisle by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in Paris Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the church.

He was my uncle, but he was also my childhood friend and partner in crime. Along with my sister, we stayed in trouble. I look back on those times with fondness and love. He was a good man with a huge heart. He will be missed by everyone who loved him. What a sad day for my family when the baby boy is laid to rest. My sincerest sympathy to Farrah Jane and Nicole and the children. My heart aches for each and every one of you. All my love. Shirley and Terry
