Ralph Thomas Howard, 75, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the UK-Chandler Medical Center. 

A Millersburg native born March 7, 1945 to the late Leonard Francis, Sr. & Mary Agnes Soister Howard, he was a graduate of the Millersburg Military Institute, a former warehouse supervisor with the W.R. Stamler Corporation/Joy Mining & Machinery, a member of American Legion Post 257-Millersburg and the United Methodist Church. Ralph loved spending time on his boat at Cave Run Lake. 

Surviving are 2 sons: Michael Howard, of Mt. Sterling, and Jeffery Howard, of Carlisle; 2 brothers: Dennis (Joyce) Howard, of Millersburg, and Leonard F. (Kathy) Howard, Jr., of Carlisle; a sister, Mary Frances (Gary) Link, of Carlisle; a special friend, Kathy Hilander, of Carlisle; his beloved dogs, Kourtney & Koko; and several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding him in death were a brother, Donald Ray Howard, Sr., and a nephew, Donald Ray Howard, Jr. 

A memorial service with military honors will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2021 by Rev. Wayne Tolson at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Saturday until the time of service.

So sorry for your loss. I always thought of Ralph as a good friend and looked forward to the times he would come to the marina. Ralph was a kind soul and a friend to everyone. He was always willing to help anyone in need and I’ll have a smile on my face whenever I remember my time talking and joking with him. Prayers for peace and comfort in these dark times.

Ralph was like family to us. We loved when he would visit the HILANDER’s in Paris. I am not sure if I ever saw Ralph have a bad day. His laugh and joy for life will never be forgotten. Please know that we are praying for his family and those who loved him.

So sorry to hear about his passing, I enjoyed working with Ralph and for his help when I would come to Stamler to get my loads to haul. He will missed and I will never forget him.
