Barbara Sue Hicks, 68, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Johnson Mathers Nursing Home.

She was born July 14, 1941 in Nicholas Co. to the late Otis and Ruth George Curtis. She was a retired employee of Bluegrass Industries, a Kentucky Colonel and member of the Myers Christian Church.

She is survived by her dear friend, Frances "Tad" Hazelrigg, Cynthiana, a son, Ricky (Patty) Hicks, a daughter, Waneyca Gray, 2 sisters, Dorothy Ritchie and Linda B. (Douglas) George, all of Carlisle, 5 grandchildren, Bradley (Sara) Hicks, Nathan (Lacey) Hicks, Christopher Gray, Whitney Gray and Hannah Miller, a great-granddaughter, Laynie Gray, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Middleton.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M. Sunday.
