Obituary

Claudie B. "Ben" Linville, 91, husband of the late Frances Louise Yelton Linville, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at his home in Mays Lick.

Born November 13, 1934 in Fleming County to the late Claude & Nannie Ellison Linville, he was a lifelong farmer, a member of Ishmael Chapel Church and attended New Life Church of Christ. He was a true "Mr. Fix-it" who loved tinkering, a fisherman and an avid U.K. Basketball fan, especially during the Pitino years. Ben had one of those great personalities where everyone loved him instantly. Any time he went to one of his favorite restaurants, either Frisch's or Long John Silver's, he was greeted by name and treated like family.

Surviving are 2 children, Mark Adam (Betty) Linville of Mt. Sterling and Jennifer Jean (Jason) Edwards of Mays Lick; 8 grandchildren: Bryan David Burton (Ginger Gallagher), Ashley Nicole (Chris) Hignite, Charles (Lauren) Nichols, Chrissie Nichols, Kevin Ramey (Amy Smith), Joel Hildebrand, William Hildebrand and Brookelynn Edwards; 9 great-grandchildren: Alexis & Mason Nichols, Mallory, Lily, Grayson & Max Hignite, Ayden Whalen, and Landon & Catrina Ramey; and a sister-in-law, Grace Linville, along with several nieces & nephews.

Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Anna Marie Burton; a great-grandson, Asher Nichols; a son-in-law, Dan Hildebrand along with 8 brothers & sisters.
