Carl C. "Babe" Steele, Sr., 79, husband of Geneva Tubbs Steele, died Friday, November 2, 2007 at his home.

He was born February 15, 1928 in Bath Co. to the late Floyd & Lida Mae Hatton Steele, was a retired employee of Forest Retreat Farm and was a member of Carlisle United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include 2 sons, Carl C. Steele, Jr., Lexington & Gary (Marsha) Steele, Mt. Sterling, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Rev. Ernie Carmicle. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday.
