Obituary

Caroline Proctor Wood Blair, 80, of Carlisle, Kentucky passed away peacefully on October 3, 2015.

A native of Millersburg, Kentucky, she was born January 11, 1935 to the late Gordon Proctor and Caroline McIntyre Wood. Mrs. Blair attended Millersburg Military Institute until 1948 and was a 1952 graduate of Paris High School. She attended the University of Kentucky and was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She was a longtime member of the Carlisle Presbyterian Church and a former President of their Women's Circle. She also served on the board of Hospice of the Bluegrass. She was a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association and a University of Kentucky Henry Stites Barker Fellow. An avid UK fan, she enjoyed traveling to Wildcat games with her family, spending time with her grandchildren-- who brought her joy every day, and playing bridge with lifelong friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Marion Custer Blair; two children, Proctor Wood Blair (Sara Jim) and Beth Blair Mercer (Brian), both of Lexington; a sister, Mattie Wood Kirkpatrick (Bob), of Millersburg; five grandchildren, Amanda Blair Milward (Jeff), Stacy Blair Forrester (Rob), Blair McIntyre Mercer, Proctor Wood Mercer and Benjamin King Mercer; and two great-grandchildren, Mary Carter Milward and Harrison Proctor Milward.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5pm Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Carlisle Presbyterian Church. Private family burial in the Carlisle Cemetery will take place prior to the service.
