Catesby Woodford "Casey" Bramel, 87, husband of Eleanor Ellington Bramel, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard.

He was born January 21, 1921 in Bourbon Co. to the late Sam & Myrtle Davis Bramel was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired employee of Stamler and a member of the Irvingsville Baptist Church.

Other survivors include a son, David Allen Bramel, Cynthiana, 2 step-sons, David Keith Shrout, Cynthiana & George Thomas Shrout, Carlisle, a step-daughter, Wanda Shrout, Carlisle, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Oma Bramel, a daughter, Shelly Bramel and a grandson, Billy Joe Coy.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Rev. Albert Simmons. Burial with military honors will follow in Paris Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.
