Chelsea Denise Markland, beloved 18 year old daughter of Don, Jr. & Angie Markland, sister of Bryce and Olivia, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, October 22, 2010 at her home.

Born on August 6, 1992, she was the granddaughter of Donald & Patricia Markland, Jewell Hammond and Bill Bentley; great-granddaughter of Opal Sexton Hamilton, niece of Patrick & Stephanie Markland, Ray & Tammy Phillips, Regina Purvis, Larry & Lisa Hammond, David Hammond and Mike Hammond; beloved cousin of D.R. Purvis, Whitney and Jalene Markland, Devin Phillips, Erick, Amber, Kim and Kayla Hammond, Jennifer Emanuel, Holden Markland, Lance Sandoval and Amber Hatton, special friend of Jessica Letcher and a dedicated friend to many.

Chelsea was a 2010 graduate of Nicholas County High School.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Nicholas County High School by Rev. Gaylord Gillispie and Rev. Kevin Miles with burial to follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Monday at the school.

Memorial contributions suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
