Dorothy Curtis Ritchie, 83, wife of the late Dovolee "Dovie" Ritchie, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

Born June 21, 1939 in Nicholas County to the late Otis & Ruth George Curtis, she was a retired employee of Jockey International with 27 years of service and then operated the D & D Grocery in the Barterville community for 30 years. Dorothy had a spectcaular hand for sewing and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include 2 daughters: Marcia (Charlie) Herrington & Sheila Garrett; a sister, Linda B. George; her grandchildren: Misty (Justin) Brown, Tonya (David) Leech, Dana Price & Brandon (Harper) Garrett; great-grandchildren: Trenton (Whitney) Clark, Amontae & Xavier Brown, Aaron, Claysa & Weston Fryman, John David, Austin, Levi & Tori Leech, Chad Tyler & Skyler Price and Zoey & Zella Garrett; a great-great grandson, Graham Clark; and a very special niece, Christy (Chuck) Smith, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Tammy Ritchie Hawkins, and 2 sisters, Patsy Middleton and Barbara Hicks.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 4th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Friday until the time of services.
