Douglas Roger Hamilton, 83, husband of the late Matilda Barnes Hamilton, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026 at his home.

Born September 29, 1942 in Nicholas County to the late Roger Ray & Nellie Frances McIlvain Hamilton, he was a 1960 graduate of Nicholas County High School, a lifelong farmer, a retiree of The Trane Company, and drove a bus for the Nicholas County School System for 20 years. He was also a member of Carlisle Christian Church. Doug loved being on the farm and was a longtime member of the Central Kentucky Antique Machinery Association.

Survivors include 6 children: Steve (JoAnne) Hamilton, Stephanie (Roy, Sr.) Hawkins, Chris Adams (Stephanie Dixon), Delilah Dollar (Charles Conner), Stacey (Bruce) Treash & Emery Shepherd; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Adams.

Also preceding him in death was a son, Bobby J. Adams, Jr.

Services will be 1:30 P.M. Thursday, September 17th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith and Pastor Tyler Duncan. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday.
