Elizabeth Morris Crawford, 70, widow of Joe David Crawford, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Rockcastle Hospital and Respiratory Care Center.

She was born December 13, 1938 in Nicholas County to the late William and Sallie Tubbs Morris and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle.

Survivors include 4 daughters, Connie (Chad) Blankenship, Winchester, Linda Treadway, Carlisle, Sara Stone and Debbie Sturgeon, Millersburg, 4 brothers, Powell Morris, Eugene Morris, Jimmy Morris and William Morris, all of Carlisle, a sister, Adaline Hall, Carlisle, 8 grandchildren, Gary Fryman, Misty Hawkins, Bobby Hawkins, Anita K. (Roy) Hawkins, Nikki Treadway (Darrin Snapp), Ronnie (Sarah) Stone, Rhonda Stone, and Natasha Sturgeon, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Calvin, Bennie and Clayton Morris, and a sister, Dora Bee Purvis.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by the Rev. Vincent Farris. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.
