Elizabeth Jewell Wilcoxson, 96, widow of Leonard Wilcoxson, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.

She was born September 26, 1915 in Nicholas County to the late Harper & Addie Campbell Hunt, her father being a Civil War veteran. She worked 32 years for Giffen Manufacturing, Bluegrass Industries and Jockey International, was a member of the Marie Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Cowan and attended the Pleasant Valley Church of God.

Survivors include 3 sons, Ronnie (Annis) Wilcoxson, David (Crystal) Wilcoxson & Wayne (Dixie) Wilcoxson, a daughter, Fay (Jerry) Kimes, all of Carlisle, 9 grandchildren- Rhonda Hunt, Adam Wilcoxson, Beverly Scott, Jerry Tom Kimes, Rebecca Sams, Steve Kimes, Tonya Judge, Vicky Taylor and James Keith Wilcoxson, 14 great-grandchildren- Courtney & Payton Sibert, McKenna Wilcoxson, Kassie Boots, Clayton & Brandon Kimes, Amie & Amanda Sams, Alicia & Linsey Kimes, Terry, Heather & James Herrington and Brandy Shannon, 14 great-great grandchildren- Caden & Ella Matthews, Clayton, Kaylyn & Emalee Kimes, Jacob, Zoe, Tyler, Kirsten, Andrew & Ayden Herrington, and Kaitlyn, Aaron & Gavin Shannon, several nieces & nephews and one special niece, Diane Hunt Barbee.

She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Jimmy & Larry Joe Wilcoxson, 5 brothers, Vernard, Robert, Leonard, Joe & Henry Hunt, 2 sisters, Fannie Alexander & Margaret George Florence, a great-grandson, Dusty Judge, and a great-great grandson, Jonathan Herrington.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Jerry Watkins. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday.
