Eugene Hopkins, 79, of Newport, formerly of Carlisle, widower of Nancy Hopkins, died Thursday, November 23, 2006 at St. Luke Hospital-East in Ft. Thomas.

He was born February 16, 1927 in Fleming County to the late Clarence and Edna Planck Hopkins, was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include a brother, Paul Hopkins, Carlisle, 3 sisters, Louise Wade, Marjorie Wells and Sue Howard all of Carlisle and several nieces and nephwes.

He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Alva and Bill Hopkins.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 27at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Rev. Darrell Sexton. Burial with military honors will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 12:00 Noon Monday.
