Flora Mae Ellison Smart, 89, wife of the late Joe Oliver Smart, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.

Born November 23, 1925 in Fleming County to the late Harvey Lee & Izora Howard Ellison, she was a former employee of Hansley Mills and member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle.

Survivors include a son, Joe Allen Smart, of Paris; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Smart, of Murray; a grandson, David (Michelle) Smart, of Murray; 4 granddaughters: Kimberly Smart, of Lexington; Megan (Jeff) Zinner, of Frankfort; and Veronica & Rachael Smart, both of Paris; and 7 great-grandchildren: Logan & Marina Smart, Peyton & Quinn Zinner, Silas & Elijah Smart-Lopez and Christian Smart.

Also preceding her in death were her son, Harvey D. Smart; 3 brothers: Henry, John & George Ellison; and 6 sisters: Nanny Linville, Bertha Jolly, Irene Pugh,Viola Brown, Lucy Jolly and her twin, Mary Elizabeth Ellison.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Kevin Thomas with burial to follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of service.
