Hallye Frances Griffin, 96, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Hospice Care Center.

She was the daughter of the late Laura & Thomas Griffin, a native of Nicholas Co. where she spent her entire life.

She was a graduate of the 1930 class of Carlisle High School, a graduate of Fugazzi Business College and attended the University of Kentucky.

She was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church a member of the Nicholas Co. Historical Society, was a Ky. Colonel and an Honorary Ringmaster of the Barnum & Bailey Circus.

She was employed by the County Agent's Office and the Child Welfare Office in Carlisle before being appointed secretary of the Selective Service Board in October 1940, which position she held until her retirement in 1971.

Survivors include 2 great-nephews, John T. Griffin, Jr., Nicholasville & William F. Griffin, Nonesuch, 4 great-nieces, Julie Oaks, Nicholasville, Layson Fox, Los Angeles, Beverly Graven Covington & Colleen Kidd, Covington, and several cousins.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 9:00 A.M. Saturday.
