Helen Duncan Banta, wife of the late Roger H. Banta, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, her 85 ^th birthday, at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital.

A native of Nicholas County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin & Hattie Buntin Duncan, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and member of the Carlisle Christian Church.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Roger A. (Debbie) Banta, of Carlisle, and Tim (Kathy) Banta, of Lexington; a daughter: Sharon (Bill) Unseld, of Lexington; six grandchildren: Brian Minton, Chris Unseld, Dana Lenox, Christi Jefferson, Andrea Wombles and Steven Banta; and nine great-grandchildren, along with several nieces & nephews.

Also preceding her in death were 3 sisters: Ella Ruth Stewart, Dorothy McClure and Nancy Duncan.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Jim Caswell. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be from Noon Thursday until the time of services.
