Hillard B. Fitzwater, 82, of Carlisle, husband of the late Eva Hawkins Fitzwater, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010, at his home.

He was born March 3, 1928, in Cynthiana, KY to the late Orie Howard & Ada Lee Turner Fitzwater, was a U. S. Army veteran and a retired foreman/supervisor with CSX Railroad.

He is survived by 1 son, Randall Fitzwater, Virginia, 6 daughters, Lavona Fitzwater, Frankfort, Ida Lee Cornish, Lawrenceburg, Amy Fitzwater, Carlisle, Billy Jo Fitzwater, Mt. Sterling, Patricia Kearns, Cynthiana, and Alice Clifford, Carlisle, 1 sister, Jo Ann Hurt, Symsonia, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by 1 son, H. B. Fitzwater, Jr., 2 brothers, Charles & Harlan Fitzwater, and a sister, Rowena F. Bates.

A Memorial Service will be 12:00 Noon Friday, May 14, 2010 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by the Rev. Keith Sayre.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
