Jessie Chrystle Kirby, 86, widow of Arlie Estle Kirby died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.

She was born June 6, 1920 in Rockcastle Co. to the late William & Amanda Lewis Thomas, was a retired employee of G.E., and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lexington.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Sue Kirby, Carlisle, 4 grandsons, Duane (Monica) Kirby, Lexington, Bryan Kirby, Carlisle, Stephen (Karen) Kirby, Carlisle & Garr (Misty) Kirby, Lexington, a granddaughter, Pamela (Dan) Florea, Oxford, Ohio, a brother, Edsel (Elsie) Thomas, Evansville, Indiana, a sister, Mae (Thad) Dees, Mt. Zion, Illinois, 5 great-grandchildren, Dana (Ben) Congleton,Jamie Duncan, Jessica Kirby & Nathan & Jacob Kirby and 3 great great-grandchildren, Sarah & Kendall Congleton & Emily Kirby.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Arlie Denver Kirby.

Services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home Activities Fund, or the Neal Building Fund.

Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday.
