It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Martin Leora Diaz, age 20, of Carlisle, Kentucky, who passed away on October 9, 2026. Though his time with us was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
Jose was a man whose presence could fill a room and whose playful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He loved joking around, teasing the people closest to him, and giving everyone a hard time in the way only he could. His mischievous personality was unforgettable, and beneath that playful nature was a heart full of love for his family and the people who meant the most to him. Jose had a way of making life a little louder, a little crazier, and a whole lot more memorable.
He was a hardworking young man who owned and operated a pressure washing business alongside his brother. He took pride in his work and in building something of his own with his family. He was always on the move, always in a hurry, and always ready to go fast. His tattoo, “Tripping on Time” was a fitting reflection of the way he lived his life. Jose moved through life at full speed, never knowing just how deeply his presence would be missed when his time came far too soon.
One of Jose’s favorite things was watching his brother play football every Friday night. Those Friday nights were more than just about football, they were about showing up for someone he loved, making memories, and being part of the moments that mattered. Supporting his brother was something he looked forward to, and those memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family.
Above all else, Jose was a father first. His beautiful daughters were his entire world. He was so proud of the father he was, and the father he continued striving to become. He loved his girls beyond measure, and being their daddy was one of the greatest honors of his life. They were his pride and joy, and he never missed an opportunity to show them just how deeply they were loved.
But Jose was so much more than a father. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a partner, a friend, and a hero. He was someone whose life touched people in ways that cannot always be put into words. In his final act of generosity, Jose gave the gift of life to hundreds of people through organ and tissue donation, allowing pieces of his legacy to live on in others. Even in his passing, he continued to give, offering hope and a future to people he may never have had the chance to meet. There is something incredibly powerful about a man who spent his life moving fast but, in the end, gave others more time.
Jose was a light in this world, a light that shone brightly in the lives of his family and friends. Perhaps he was a light this world never deserved, but he was a gift his family will forever be grateful to have known. His life may have been short, but the love he gave, the laughter he brought, and the lives he touched will reach far beyond the twenty years he spent here.
Jose’s absence leaves an unimaginable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him. There will be Friday nights when his family wishes he were there, moments when a joke or a familiar memory brings tears instead of laughter, and countless milestones his little girls will wish their daddy could be here to witness. Though the world feels a little dimmer without him, his love will continue to shine through the people he leaves behind.
Left to cherish Jose's memory are his beloved daughters, Kinsley Kaye Diaz and her mother, Jayme Waugh, and Blakely Lashay Diaz and her mother, Brianna Smith; his parents, Savannah & Juan Avalos and Crispin Diaz, Sr.; his grandparents: Lisa Yates and Charles & Elizabeth Blevins; his siblings, Crispin (Cayla) Diaz, Lilliana Diaz, Letizia Avalos, and Francisco Avalos; his nieces & nephews: Reina Diaz, Eelyiana Westfall, Anistyn Diaz, Armando Westfall, and Gunner Diaz; and Jordan Williams, someone who loves him fiercely. He also leaves behind extended family members, friends, and countless others whose lives have been touched by his presence and generosity.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 19th at Carlisle United Methodist Church with burial following in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. Monday until the time of service.
Memorial contributions to the funeral home to assist with final arrangements are greatly appreciated by the family.
Though our hearts are broken by your absence, your love will continue to live through the beautiful family you leave behind and the lives you have helped save. You will forever be loved, endlessly missed, and never forgotten.
Forever, Tripping on time, until we meet again…
