Juanita Ledford Simpson, 77, widow of Sonny B. Simpson, Sr., died August 31, 2009 at her home.

She was born January 24, 1932 in Nicholas Co. to the late George H. and Christine Thompson Ledford, was a homemaker and member of Wesley Chapel C.M.E.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Joyce M. (Donnie) Jackson, Bourbon Co., Vickie (Rev. D. Wayne) Rogers, Winchester, & Saundra Butler, Lexington, 3 sisters, Geneva Turner, Cincinnati, Alberta McReynolds, Lexington, & Betty Williams, Indianapolis, 2 grandsons, Brian C. Simpson & Brandon D. Jones, 3 great-grandchildren, Breanna Simpson, Breauna Simpson & Jeremy Simpson, Jr.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Sonny B. "Junebug" Simpson, Jr., a grandson, Jeremy Simpson, a sister, Ruth Williams, and a brother, Billy C. Ledford.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Wesley Chapel C.M.E. by Rev. D. Wayne Rogers. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Clarence Compton, James Compton, Raymond Compton, Greg O'Bannon, Ben Sharp and Donnie Sharp. Honorary casketbearers will be her nephews, Louis Williams, George Ledford, Terry Ledford, Kelvin Ledford, Jeff McReynolds and Steve Ledford.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. Friday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.
