Kenneth Wayne Cartmill, Sr., 77, husband of Joan Bailey Cartmill, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Lexington.

He was born August 7, 1935 in Nicholas County to the late John William & Myrtle Elizabeth Rankin Cartmill, worked as a supervisor with General Telephone of Ohio and Jockey International, Inc. and was a member of the Blue Licks Christian Church.

Other survivors include a son, Kenneth "Kenny" (Karen) Cartmill, Jr., of Maysville, a daughter, Jane (Brian) Switzer, of Columbus, Ohio, 2 grandchildren, Hannah Brooke Cartmill and her fiance, Nick Burkhardt, of Florence, and Cris Cartmill and his special friend Andrea Calland, of Rockford, Illinois, 2 half-brothers, James Cartmill, of Winchester & Frank (Peggy) Cartmill, of Paris, 4 aunts, several cousins and his special dog, Snuggles.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, James Catesby & Gertrude Ann Waugh Cartmill and Robert Rankin & Leda Rankin Sexton.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Richwood Church of Christ by Brian Switzer with burial following in the Marion Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Thursday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home and from 12:00 Noon Friday until the time of service at the church.
