Lucian Workman, 81, husband of Betty Jolley Workman, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital.

He was born May 8, 1927 in Fleming County to the late Jesse and Ina Purcell Workman, was a farmer and member of the Ishmael Chapel Church.

Also surviving are 3 sons, Avery (Barbara) Workman, Mt. Olivet, Calvin Workman, Carlisle, and Billy Joe (Sherri) Workman, Lexington, 4 daughters, Phyllis (Doug) McCarty, Cythiana, Janie Prather, Lancaster, Debbie (Warner) Ramey and Susie Myers (Jackie Davis), Carlisle, a sister, Anna Lee Workman, Cowan, 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Gaylord Gillispie and Bro. Julian McKee. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.
