Lula Mae George Griffin, 81, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.

She was born January 20, 1931 in Fleming County to the late Robert & Grace Smith Stone and was a devoted homemaker.

Lula was preceded in death by her two husbands, John L. George, Jr. and Elvie Griffin. Her survivors include 2 sons: Davis (Peggy) George & Roger (Charlotte) George, of Paris; 3 brothers: Walter Stone & Bobby Stone, of Versailles, and Cecil Stone, of Lexington; 4 sisters: Edith Lawson & Barbara Fulton, of Versailles, Aileen Boots, of Carlisle, and Betty Blakey, of Lexington; 6 grandchildren: Edward George, Travis George, Matthew George, Steven George, Jason George & Lindsay Bishop; 3 great-grandchildren: Taylor Lee George, Kennedi Bishop and Avery Bishop.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia George, and a brother, Wayne Stone.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Ron Davis with burial following in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Monday.
