Mary Christine George, 89, widow of Allen Harrison George

died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Johnson Mathers Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 14, 1917 in Nicholas County to the late Allen and Gertie Hopkins Bromagen, was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Christin Church.

She is survived by two sons, Brookie George and Douglas(Linda B)George, 3 grandaughters, Rhonda Byrd, Christy(Chuck)Smith, and Tara Carpenter of Carlisle, two grandsons, Jamie(Cybill)George and Jason(Jenny)George of Carlisle, five great granddaughters, Jenci Smith, Cara and Haley George and Sydney and Jessie Carpenter, four great grandsons, Troy and Todd Byrd, Ethan Smith and Christian George.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie George, two brothers, Allen T. and John Bromagen, three sisters, Virgie Smoot, Bernice Scott and Bessie Guy Myers.

She leves behind a special friend, Rose R. Fryman of Carlisle and a life long friend, Frances Harney of Ohio and many othr friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. James Gaunce with burial in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Jamie and Jason George, Clint Carpenter, Troy, Todd and David Byrd and Ethan and Chuck Smith.

Honorary bearers will be Todd Scott, Henry A. Myers, Donnie and Jackie Bromagen and David Smoot.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM Thursday.
