Paul Jackson Markwell, 70, of Faith, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

He was born August 22, 1940 in Nicholas Co. to the late James Austin & Sally Jackson Markwell was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired employee of IBM.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Lisa Haire, Faith, North Carolina & Paula Markwell, China Grove, North Carolina, 3 grandchildren, Lindsey Michael Haire, Michele Moses & Amanda Lee Haire, 2 great-grandchildren Carson Blaine Haire & Isabella Michele Moses, a niece, Shirley Hammonds Frederick and a great-nephew, Austin Frederick.

He was also preceded in death by a son, James Paul Markwell, and a sister, Frances Hammonds.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 13 at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. officiated by Michele Moses & Amanda Haire. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery with committal service by Rev. Julian Hammonds.

Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday.
