Robert Rose "Bob" McGuffey, Sr., 68, of Lexington, formerly of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Joseph East.

Born September 1, 1947 in Nicholas County to the late Asbury, Sr. & Sarah Groves McGuffey, he was a 1967 graduate of Nicholas County High School, and a former employee of Jockey International and the Lexington Herald-Leader. Bob was a jovial man known for his larger than life personality.

Left to cherish his memory are 2 sons: Robert Rose "Sugar Bear" McGuffey, Jr., of Irvine, and his children: Alyssa, Ashley & Andrew McGuffey; and Brandon McGuffey, of Lexington, and his children; a daughter, Jennifer Bussell, of Detroit, Michigan and her children; a brother: Asbury McGuffey, Jr., of Lexington; and 2 great-grandchildren: Jamirah & Jessie Rose McGuffey.

Also preceding him in death were a son, Nathaniel Hilton McGuffey, and a grandson, Andre Hilton McGuffey.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Boyd officiating and burial to follow in the Henryville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
