Walter C. "Bus" Hovermale, 93, died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 9, 1915 in Nicholas Co. the youngest of six children of the late Henry & Lutie Gilvin Hovermale. He was a lifelong resident of Nicholas Co., was a retired farmer, a member of Dougherty Lodge #65 F.&A.M. and was a member of Carlisle Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years Minerva Shrout Hovermale, a son, Don H. (Linda) Hovermale, four grandchildren, Donna (Gary) Peevler, Sandi (Jeff) Bailey, Julie Hovermale and Adam M. (Emily) Hovermale, 6 great-grandchildren, Cole & Lauren Peevler, Tyler & Brooke Bailey, Daniel Will and Adam M."A.J." Hovermale, Jr.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson Matthew Howard Hovermale, 3 brothers, Oscar, Badger& Howard Hovermale and 2 sisters Carrie Hovermale & Elizabeth Eden.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. Monday with Masonic Rites at 12:00 Noon.
