William Parker Norton, 80, husband of Dixie White Norton, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Central Baptist Hospital.

He was born June 8, 1928 in Nicholas County to the late Hiram and Nancy Fulton Norton, and was a farmer, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

Also surviving are 3 children, William P. "Butch" Norton, and Nancye (James) Allen, of Paris, and Cathy (Fred) Lehmann, North Middletown, 6 grandchildren, Andrew Norton, Molly Norton, Britt Allen-Wynn, Sarah Allen, Freddy Lehmann and Jennifer Lehmann, and 3 great-grandchildren, Quinn Lehmann, Jonmarie Lehmann and Samantha Wynn.

Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 23, 2009 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Todd Wiley. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 4:00 PM Sunday.
