William Ray Sams, 56, husband of Connie Puckett Sams, died Thursday, November 2, 2006.

He was born January 27, 1950 to Merolyn Cameron Sams of Carlisle and the late William Clay Sams. He was a member of Dougherty Lodge # 65 F.&A.M, a retired engineer with T.T.I. Railroad, a former real estate agent, a volunteer Nicholas Co. Deputy Sheriff and was an avid gardner.

Additional survivors include 2 daughters, Kristina (Bobby) Hunt, Carlisle & Nena Donovan, Mt. Sterling, 5 grandchildren, Tyler Hunt, Johnathan & Meghan Davis, Lanea Hayden & Adrian Donovan and 3 brothers, Thomas Clay (Becky), Timothy Lee & Richard Fuller (Sherry) Sams, all of Carlisle.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Rev. Don Toy. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday with Masonic Rites conducted at 7:00 P.M.
