Addie Davis Howard Jefferson, 87, wife of W.C. Jefferson for 66 years, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the U.K. Chandler Medical Center.
A native of Nicholas County born September 14, 1933 to the late Jack & Maudie Moore Howard, she was a former employee of Bluegrass Industries/Jockey International, was co-owner of Jefferson Farm Machinery & Jefferson Trucking, drove a bus for the Nicholas County School System for 20 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle.
Additional survivors include 4 children: Willie Jefferson, Jr., Debbie Osborne, Karen (Larry) Tubbs and Tony (Teresa) Jefferson; 2 brothers: John (Roberta) Howard and Ollie Howard; 6 sisters: Rita (Ron) McCarty, Helen Howard, Anna Smoot, Peggy Halsey, Barbara (James) Fryman and Shirley (Roger) Mattox; 7 grandchildren: Jeremy (Tabbatha) Tubbs, Rebecca Craycraft, Michelle (Caleb) Downing, Lacey (Nate) Hicks, Drake Osborne, Benjamin (Heather) Jefferson and Mitchell Jefferson; 13 great-grandchildren: Waylon Tubbs, Jacob, Nicholas, Matthew & Emily Craycraft, Casen, Addilee, Kaelyn & Rhett Downing, Anna & John Hicks, and Raelynn & Carter Jefferson; and her beloved dog, Turbo, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.
Also preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Harry & James “Buster” Howard, and a sister, Louise Wagoner.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 21, 2020 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M. Sunday.
