Aileene (Stone) Boots

Aileene Stone Boots, 96, wife of the late Bishop A. “Joe” Boots, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025 at Willowbrook Healthcare in Carlisle. 

Born May 30, 1929 to the late Robert Hisle & Lillian Grace Smith Stone, she worked for many years as a seamstress at Cowden’s, Giffen Manufacturing, Bluegrass Industries and Jockey International, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Carlisle. Aileene loved playing rook and bingo, and spending time with her family

Surviving are 3 children: Linda (Charles) House, Billy Boots & Gary Boots, all of Carlisle; a sister, Barbara Fulton of Versailles; 5 grandchildren: Eric (Rebecca) House, Whitney Michelle (Mike) Wells, James Robert (Jenna) Boots, Brian (Kate) Shaw & Shauna Flora; and 11 great-grandchildren, including a special great-granddaughter, Mia House. 

Also preceding her in death were a son, Jimmy Boots; 7 brothers & sisters: Lula Mae George Griffin, Cecil Stone, Edith Lawson, Betty Blakey, Robert “Bobby” Stone, Walter Allen Stone & Gerald Wayne Stone; and a granddaughter, Kassie Boots. 

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 18th at First Baptist Church of Carlisle by Rev. Steve Smith & Dr. John Owen. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of service.
