Anna Mae Hughes Davis, 89, beloved wife of the late William M. "Bill" Davis for 61 years, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Johnson Mathers Nursing Home.
Born July 15, 1930 in Nicholas County to the late James Miles Hughes and Helen Elizabeth Crawford Hughes Kokendoffer, Anna Mae was a 1947 graduate of Carlisle High School and attended Fugazzi College. She retired from the Deposit Bank of Carlisle in 1993 after 45 ½ years of dedication to her community. She impacted many lives and was adored by many during her time here on this Earth. She was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church. Anna Mae’s favorite pastime was spending time with her family & friends and camping with her beloved husband.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Davis Moreland, of Carlisle; a son, James “Jamie” Mason Davis, of Carlisle; four grandchildren, James Conn (Bethany) Wilson, of Lexington, Cara Elizabeth Wilson (Brian) Clark, of Lexington, Shanna Lauren Davis (Loren) Clark, of Carlisle, and Mason Keith Davis, of Carlisle; great-grandchildren, Cameron Davis Clark, Annabelle Katherine Wilson, Collier Lee Clark, John Wyatt Clark, Landyn Kinlee Ruckel, Brody Gage Ruckel, Ellisyn Brielle Ruckel, Madelynn Elizabeth Ruckel, Tucker Brent Harrison; a brother, Franklin Miles Hughes, of Carlisle, and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Also, preceding her in death, was a son-in-law, Timothy Lee Moreland.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Carlisle Christian Church Family Life Center by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Monday until the time of service.
