Anna Kay (Shearer) Sexton

Anna Kay Shearer Sexton, 67, of Carlisle, wife of Darrell D. Sexton, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

A native of Nicholas County born October 18, 1956 to the late Virgil C., Sr. & Devona J. “Jimmie” Kelly Shearer, she was a 1974 graduate of Nicholas County High School, worked many years for Community Action Council, managed the Shepherd Place Apartments and served as Administrator for the New Beginnings Christian Academy. Annie was deeply devoted to her New Beginnings Church and church family. She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing music and taking car trips to Amish Country. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. 

Additional survivors include her son, Chris (Charity) Sexton; son-in-law, Chad Land; brother, Keith Shearer; sister, Yana (John) Bien; and 5 grandchildren: Micah Land, Aven Sexton, Kaylee Land, Leah Land & Cooper Sexton. 

Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Kayte Land; a brother, Virgil Shearer, Jr.; a sister, Debra Conyers; and a grandchild, Baylee Sexton. 

Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 4th at New Beginnings Church by Pastor Darrell Sexton and Pastor Ron Spencer. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Friday at the church.
