Barbara (Davis) Watkins

Barbara Ann Davis Watkins, 74, wife of Norman E. “Deano” Watkins, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 at her home in Carlisle. 

Born March 31, 1951 in Nicholas County to the late Elmer & Beatrice Smoot Davis, she worked for many years as a housekeeper for area hotels and as a waitress. Barbara loved playing electronic games, knitting and her many pets over the years, most recently her beloved dog, Hershey. She always had a smile on her face, enjoyed cracking jokes and having a good time with family and friends.

Additional survivors include 2 sons, Norman Ray Watkins & Andrew Leon (Wendy) Watkins; 3 brothers: Jeffrey (Pam) Davis, David Davis & Ray Davis; a sister, Lorene Davis; 7 grandchildren: Matthew, Bradley, Amber, Ethan, Karoline, Leon & Leland; and several great-grandchildren. 

Also preceding her in death were a brother, Virgil Davis; and 2 sisters, Teresa Waverly & Becky Davis. 

A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 11th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home.
