Betty Crockett Fay, 90, wife of the late Charles Fay, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.
Born June 15, 1928 in Nicholas County to the late Robert Scott & Anna Dee Lynam Crockett, she was a graduate of Carlisle High School, a retired employee of Jockey International-where she worked for more than 30 years, was a longtime cashier at Crockett’s IGA, a Red-Hatter, a member of the local VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries and was a lifelong member of the Carlisle Christian Church. Betty spent many years volunteering with several local organizations such as Nicholas Co. Senior Citizens, as well as serving on the Carlisle City Council.
Surviving are a son, Bobby Lloyd (Judy) Fay; a grandson, Bobby Lloyd "Chip" (Davida) Fay, Jr.; 2 great-granddaughters, Makayla & Keilee Fay; and 3 step-great granddaughters, Miranda Bretz and Makenzie & Megan Craig, all of Carlisle.
Also preceding her in death were a brother and sister-in-law, Robert S., Jr. "Bobby" and Carolyn Gilvin Crockett.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Carlisle Christian Church by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Monday at the church.
