Bill Cannon Obituary

William Allen “Bill” Cannon, 76, formerly of Lexington, husband of 55 years to Doris Roe Cannon, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. 

Born November 6, 1943 in Fleming County to the late Marion Allen & Mae Barton Cannon, he was a 1961 graduate of Fleming County High School, had attended Morehead State University, was a U. S. Air Force Veteran of Vietnam, a former Regional Circulation Manager for the Lexington Herald-Leader & the Louisville Courier-Journal, was a former employee of State Beauty Supply and JP-Morgan Chase Bank, and also served as a bus monitor for both the Fayette & Nicholas County School Systems. Bill was a member of the Favorite Lodge 581 F & A.M., a longtime member of Broadway Christian Church and current member of Carlisle Christian Church. 

In addition to his beloved wife, Doris, he is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Tony) Cannon Smith; his granddaughter, Kayleigh-Ann Cannon Smith; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, special friends and 2 special neighbors, Katie & Shelby Caswell.

Also preceding him in death was a sister, Lois Harmon Christopher. 

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Carlisle Christian Church by Rev. Steve Smith and Bro. Tony Smith. Burial with military honors will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday evening with a Masonic Rites service at 7:00 P.M.
