William Alvin “Bill” McNabb, 93, husband of 74 years to Glena Blevins McNabb, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at his home.
Born September 1, 1929 in Bath County to the late Isaac Shelby & Amanda Lou Sorrell McNabb, he was a retired employee of Jockey International and member of Stoney Creek Christian Church. Bill was an all-around sportsman, having enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing several sports, including softball until the age of 70. U.K. sports, the Dodgers and Ale-8 were some of his favorite things.
Additional survivors include 10 children: Lonnie (Cora) McNabb, of Taylorsville, Ruth (Charles) Lee, of Brooksville, Quintin (Kathy) McNabb, of Corinth, Mavis (Keith) Leet, Alvin (Kathy) McNabb, Barbara Warmouth, William E. McNabb, all of Carlisle, Larry (Reneé) McNabb, of Burlington, Greg (Judy) McNabb, of Carlisle, and Wendell (Kim) McNabb, of Brooksville; 6 siblings: Felcia Patton, Hildred Pugh, Flora Mae Beard, Curt McNabb, Shelby Gene McNabb & Rosetta Ferrell; 29 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Linda Ann McNabb; 4 siblings: Dick McNabb, Rhoda Brashear, Joe McNabb & Wilbur McNabb; and a great-granddaughter.
Services officiated by his sons, Lonnie and Quintin McNabb, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 5th at Carlisle Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Ingram Cemetery, Bath County.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church.
