Bonnie Grimes Obituary

Bonnie Lou Price Grimes, 85, wife of the late Dickie Grimes, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling.

Born October 6, 1936 in Nicholas County to the late Eddie Roy & Bessie Lee Hamm Price, she was a 1954 graduate of Nicholas County High School, had been the secretary for D & A Garage and a substitute teacher, assisted for many years at Small’s Greenhouse and was a member of the East Union Christian Church. Bonnie dearly loved reading and doing word search puzzles.

Surviving are 2 children: Danny (Jane Ellen) Grimes and Deanna Smoot, both of Nicholas County; a brother, Eddie Gayle Price; 3 grandchildren: David (Jenna) Smoot, Beth (Ben) Miller and Corey Grimes; and 3 great-grandchildren: Evin Clay & Liam Cole Smoot and Avery Jane Miller. 

Also preceding her in death were a brother, Bobby Gene Price; her sister, Joyce McDonald; and her son-in-law, Kenny Smoot.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 21 at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Rev. John Herndon. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Visitaiton will be after 12:00 Noon on Friday until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to the East Union Christian Church and the Alzheimer’s Association.
