Brenda Catherine (Day) Mitchell

Brenda Catherine Day Mitchell, 72, wife of 37 years to the late Jeffrey Allen Mitchell, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at her home in Nicholas County.

Born April 12, 1953 in Bourbon County to the late Floyd & Cynthia Sloan Day, she was a retired employee of Kentucky Textiles & Jockey International, and a longtime employee of Speedway in Paris. Brenda enjoyed camping, fishing, reading books and watching movies. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Surviving are 3 sons: James S. Martin, Jr., Dwayne (Tiffany) Martin & David Clay (Swanda) Martin; a stepson, Rodney Allen Mitchell (Amanda Harney); a brother, Butch Day; 3 sisters: Rose Ellen Gene, Mary Jane Combs & Bobbie Lou Parsons; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

Also preceding her in death were a 2 brothers, Charles “Buck” & David Day, and a sister, Mabel Link.

In accordance with her wishes, Brenda will be cremated with no formal services.
