Robert Jackson “Buddy” Hopkins, 80, husband of Sandra Jean Fryman Hopkins, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the UK-Good Samaritan Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Born June 3, 1944 in Nicholas County to the late Elmer T. & Laura May Lowe Hopkins, he was a former member of the Ky Army National Guard/Reserves, owner of Hopkins & Sons Towing & Recovery, and was a self-employed entrepreneur.
Additional survivors include 6 sons: Garnett Lee (Patricia) Hopkins, Robert (Charlotte) Hopkins, Jackie (Heather) Hopkins, Marcus (Ashley) Hopkins, Donald McCullough “Hopkins” & Shawn Fryman; a brother, Marion “Tarzan” (Lola) Hopkins; grandchildren: Becca (Johnny) Franklin, Wesley & Kenzie Hopkins, Cristi (Nick) Dotson, Thatcher & Daxton Hopkins, Reagan & Landon Hopkins, Caroline, Allyson & James Michael, Kyra (Jonathan) Perkins & Taylor (Justin) Ritchie; great-grandchildren: James Wesley Franklin, Sophia Hopkins, Nathan & Miranda Brady, Colt Dotson, Theodore, Wyatt, Lyla & Sutton Perkins, Leighton Ritchie & Bo Watkins; and a great-great grandson, Daniel Brady.
Also preceding him in death were a sister, Wanda Thomas; and a grandson, Luke Hopkins.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 13th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home with burial following in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of service.
