Carl Albright, 81, of Morehead, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
Born October 15, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Walter C. & Thelma B. Leibrock Albright, he was a retired entertainment promoter focusing primarily on circus and boxing promotions. Carl also traveled the country extensively with several circus groups and particularly enjoyed his time working with the elephants. In his free time and during retirement, he spent many hours reading, writing and exploring horticulture through his garden and fruit trees. Always a learner, Carl completed his Bachelor of Arts at the age of 68. A former member of the Moose Lodge, he was also in various other professional and civic organizations. Carl explored many religions during his studies and was a founding member of the Church of Scientology.
He is survived by his 3 sons: Robert (Phyllis) Albright, of Carlisle, and Michael & Steven Albright; a sister, Gail, of Florida; several grandchildren including Ben (Lacy) Spangler, Rebecca (David) Basilio and Hannah & Zachary Albright; a great-grandson, Liam Basilio, as well as several other extended family members and friends.
Also preceding him in death were his uncle, Winfield "Uncle Winny" Albright, and his former wife, Teddie Vanderpool.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home. The family will have a private inurnment following cremation.
