Carol Ann Hatton, 52, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021.
Born September 28, 1968 in Montgomery County to Margaret Sams Hatton and the late Larry W. Hatton, she graduated cum laude from Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. She devoted her professional career to early childhood education, working as a preschool teacher, preschool curriculum coordinator and childcare center director. She also served as vice chairman and chairman of the Scott County Early Childhood Education Association. However, she remained a country girl at heart, sharing her father’s love of cows and believed she was closest to God when looking into the eyes of a baby calf.
Also surviving are a sister, Jill (Jason) Hurt, of Georgetown; a brother, Glenn Hatton, of Lexington; her nieces, Taylor, Sydney, Katie, Carolyn & Sophia; and a nephew, Michael.
She was granddaughter of the late Walter & Mary Sams and Ed & Margaret Hatton. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jason & Adam Hatton.
