Carol Anne Power, 81, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at her home.
Born April 27, 1940 in Nicholas County to the late William W. & Colleen Neal Power, she was a 1958 graduate of Carlisle High School, a former employee of Bluegrass Industries, a retired account clerk for the Wedco District Health Department and lifelong member of the Carlisle Christian Church. Carol loved being a part of the Carlisle-Nicholas County community and dedicated herself to several of its organizations, including the Headquarters Homemakers, the Nicholas County Hospital Auxiliary, the Courthouse Square Arts Guild, the Nicholas County Animal Welfare Society, and the Nicholas County Historical Society, where she had served as a director. She greatly cherished her time with friends, especially the Tuesday Domino Group.
Surviving are a son, William Michael Power (Angie White), of Carlisle; 2 nieces, Laura Worthington (Greg) Harris, of Glasgow, and Julie Jean Worthington (Michael Chernoff), of Tampa, Florida; a nephew, Weston Wayne Worthington, of Lexington; a special “sister”, Ginny Smith, of Carlisle; a step-granddaughter, Autumn Jean Adkins; and 2 great-nieces & a great-nephew, Steely, Henry & Hadley Harris.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Linda Worthington.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 31st at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday.
