Charles Judge

Charles Colliver Judge, 86, of Carlisle, husband of 62 years to Judy Giffin Judge, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Bourbon Heights in Paris. 

Born February 7, 1940 in Moorefield to the late James Colliver & Elizabeth Irvin Judge, he was a 1958 graduate of Nicholas County High School, a retired employee of Jockey International, a former real estate agent and a lifelong farmer. Charles served in the Kentucky Army National Guard and was a member of Moorefield Christian Church. He could literally fix anything and took great pride in being able to repair and maintain all his farm equipment and vehicles. Charles, affectionately known as Grandad,  dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in their various activities.  

Additional survivors include 2 children, Gretchen Judge (Scott) Ramey of Lexington and Charles Aaron (Amy) Judge of Louisville; a brother, Bobby  Judge of Flemington, New Jersey; a sister, Libby Judge Moss of Lexington; and 3 grandchildren: Clark (Emily) Ramey, Cole Ramey & Kate Judge, along with several nieces and nephews. 

Also preceding him in death were 3 brothers: Michael, Paul & Jimmie Judge; and 2 sisters, Fayann Judge Ervin & Mary D. Ecton. 

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 23rd at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Pastor Kevin Clark Gaunce with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Honorary bearers will be members of the Nicholas County High School Class of 1958. 

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Sunday. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Moorefield Christian Church.
