Christie Hardison Obituary

Christie Kay Hatton Hardison, 49, of Lexington, wife of Philip L. Hardison, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Baptist Health Lexington.

A Nicholas County native born September 17, 1975, she was a 1993 graduate of Nicholas County High School where she was a member of the State Champion Girls’ Basketball team, a graduate of the University of Louisville, attended Southland Christian Church and was a member of Carlisle Christian Church. Christie worked for many years in healthcare, having been a traveling nuclear medicine technician and later a sales & marketing representative for Boston Scientific and Medtronic. She was a genuinely joyful person, enjoyed living her life to the fullest and having fun in everything she did. Christie’s happy place was always the beach. 

Also surviving are her children: Luke & Piper Hardison of Lexington; her parents: Rodney (Boogie) Hatton & Barbara (Mike) Kenney, both of  Carlisle; her paternal grandmother, Marian Hatton of Carlisle; her brother, Joey (Sallie) Kenney of Lexington; her sister, Harper (Brandon) Garrett of Carlisle; a sister-in-law, Beth (Chip) Howard of Lexington; nieces & nephews: Jagger & Sola Kenney, Zoey & Zella Garrett, and Ward (Kate) Howard & Lauren Howard; her uncles, Gerald (Linda) Hatton & Michael Hatton (Karen McAllister), both of Nicholas County; her aunt, Peggy Buhl of London; and special friends, Phyllis Sims & Crystal Dailey, who supported her through everything. Christie never met a stranger and will be missed by her many dear friends and loved ones.  

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Talmadge “Shorty” Hatton and Christine & Bill Parsley; an aunt, Sharon Farris; and her in-laws, Yvonne & Bill Hardison.

Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, May 9th at Carlisle Christian Church by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the church.

In celebration of Christie's life and joyous spirit, everyone is encouraged to wear bright colors to the visitation and service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Carlisle Christian Church or an educational fund for her children.
