Diane Smoot Roser, 64, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at St. Joseph-East in Lexington.
Born January 5, 1958 in Nicholas County to the late Herbert C., Jr. & Nell Gay Bowles Smoot, she was a 1976 graduate of Nicholas County High School, a retired employee of Jockey International, and a former employee of Carlisle Save-a-Lot. Diane loved riding motorcycles, gardening, going to the pool and attending ball games, especially those of her grandchildren.
Surviving are 2 children: Brian (Julie) Smoot, of Peachtree City, Georgia, & Tiffany Diane Phillips, of Carlisle; her longtime companion, Johnny Lane, of Carlisle, and his children, Ashley & Sarah Lane; a stepson, Blake (Sarah) Roser, of Lewis County; a sister, Betty Jo Booth (Dale Cole), of Cynthiana; 3 brothers, Kenneth (Connie) Smoot, of Carlisle, Steve (Marsha) Smoot & Johnny (Donna) Smoot, of Georgetown; 8 grandchildren: Gunner, Houston & Braxton Smoot, McKinley Phillips, Evie Rose & Maddie Cheatham, and Ellis & Pierce Roser; and 2 special nieces, Jen (Casey) Emberton & Jessica Marcum, along with several nieces & nephews and a large extended family.
Also preceding her in death were a sister, Marsha Smoot, and a granddaughter, Kali Grace Phillips.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Friday.
