Don Russell Peterson, 67, husband of Susie Duncan Peterson, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at his home.
A native of Nicholas County, Don was born February 20, 1949, was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired employee of IBM & LexMark International. He enjoyed TV, especially old episodes of Gunsmoke, car racing and attending classic car shows. He also spent many hours watching birds and wildlife in the yard.
Other family left to cherish his memory are a daughter: Tammy (Carl) Doolin, of Lawrenceburg; 2 step-daughters: Millie (Terry) Jolly, of Carlisle, and Lana Whirles, of Lexington; 7 grandchildren: Josh & Aly Doolin, Hannah, Jacob, Samuel & Sarah Jolly and Addyson Jones; a niece, Margaret Ellen Tobin; a nephew, Jody Duncan; 2 great-nephews: Duncan (Amy) Tobin and Jonathan (Stellana) Tobin; a great-great niece, Maddy Tobin, and a great-great nephew, Judd Tobin, and a special friend, C. T. McFarland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Graham Peterson, Jr., who passed away as a result of an accident when Don was very young, his mother, Helen Story Peterson Hopkins, and his mother-in-law, Gladys Duncan.
A Graveside Service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Carlisle Cemetery by Rev. Rocky Wallace.
There will be no visitation.
