Dora Frances (Merrell) Barbee

Dora Frances (Griggs) Merrell Barbee, 89, left her earthly vessel on Friday, July 1, 2022 to be reunited with the love of her life, Noble. 

Born January 9, 1933 in Bourbon County to the late Lester Lee & Rhoda Ellen Ramey Griggs, she was the adopted daughter of William & Maude Merrell. Dora enjoyed canning, gardening and working puzzle books. She loved the sunshine and everybody.

Dora married Noble Thomas Barbee on June 15, 1957 at the Carlisle Christian Church. Their union produced five children who survive: Pamela Jean Hunt, Paula June Foster, Gary Dwayne Barbee, Mary Angela Hyatt and Lisa Ann Doyle. She is also survived by her son-in-law Billy Doyle, daughter-in-law Becky Gaunce, Karl Watkins, Donald Hollar & James Gaunce; her grandchildren: Clifton (Judy) Hunt, Amanda (P.D.) Setters, Pamela Fowler (Robert Butcher), Jason Foster, Ashley Foster, Enoch Doyle & Mason Doyle; and her great-grandchildren: Karah & Brayden Hunt, Logan Setters, Paisley & Nashton Butcher, Layla & Justin Sies, and Alyssa & Tristan Foster. 

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 6th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Vernon Adams with burial to follow in Millersburg Cemetery. 

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.
